Invisalign Consultations

Why Invisalign at Team Dental

Dr. Jaffari and his team are experts with Invisalign. Over the last few years, they’ve perfected hundreds of smiles including complex cases where they used the latest developments in aligner technology and techniques to produce difficult tooth movements and achieve results that aren’t possible with other aligner brands. The process is safe, easy, and barely visible! The team uses their extensive experience to create treatment options that best meet your needs!

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign treatment is the process of straightening teeth without the use of wires such as braces. Invisalign uses clear aligners, which are almost invisible to the public eye. As a leader in the field, Invisalign is always ahead of the field in terms of their ability to align teeth effectively. Many of our patients at Team Dental love the Invisalign process because it boosts confidence, is undetectable, and leads to the best smile.

We work with several insurance providers that provide some degree of coverage. We also offer financing options through Care Credit that offers delayed interest options. Team Dental Reviews

Is there any difference between Invisalign performed by an orthodontist vs. a general dentist?

No. There is no difference in the Invisalign technology and treatment process.
However, the advantage of a General Dentists is the on-going relationship with patients before, during, and after Invisalign treatment. This provides a comprehensive treatment approach to attain desired results. Additionally, cosmetic procedures are completed by a General Dentist.

Can both teenagers and adults be treated with Invisalign?

How long does treatment take with Invisalign?

Patients typically fall in the 9–18-month range.

Can my Invisalign treatment be accelerated?

Aligner seating devices are provided to stimulate movement and accelerate the process. Depending on the complexity, vibration technology, Micro-osteoperforations (MOPS), and Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) may be utilized as needed.

How often will I have appointments?

Varies. The number of appointments is dependent on the treatment complexity. Generally, appointments are scheduled every 6-8 weeks.

How do I know if Invisalign will work for me?

Invisalign is effective for most patients. Major skeletal changes may require further evaluation and treatment.

How does Invisalign effectively move my teeth?

Unlike some stages of braces, Invisalign utilizes momentum to efficiently move your teeth. Invisalign works to gradually and consistently move your teeth with various sets of aligners.

How often must I wear the aligners?

Invisalign aligners should be worn day and night except when brushing and flossing. More specifically, aligners must be worn a minimum of 22 hours per day to ensure that tooth movement progresses predictably.

Can I only wear the aligners while sleeping?

No, aligners must be worn a minimum of 22 hours per day for maximum efficacy.

What can I eat while wearing Invisalign?

Depending on tooth movement, the Dentist may require wearing Invisalign while eating.

Certain foods may stain aligners. Please discuss specific dietary habits with your General Dentist.

What can I drink while wearing Invisalign?

You can drink only still water while wearing Invisalign.

For everything else, you must remove the aligners. If sugar comes between the trays and the teeth, it can cause decalcification, cavities, and staining of teeth.

How do I clean my aligners?

Brushing your aligners with toothpaste and cool water.

Additionally, Team Dental will provide white foam and Zoom take-home bleach at the beginning of treatment.

Can I smoke while wearing Invisalign aligners?

Strongly discouraged. Nicotine can stain the aligners while leaving a lasting odor. Smoking also effects periodontal health which may impact tooth movement.

Does Invisalign hurt?

In comparison to traditional braces, there is SIGNIFICANTLY less discomfort.

The first day or two of wearing each Invisalign aligner is similar to the soreness of completing a workout; you may feel some discomfort because the aligner is gently moving your teeth.

Can I play sports with Invisalign?

Yes. However, a mouthguard is highly recommended as it provides additional protection from injuring teeth/concussion. The mouthguard should fit over the Invisalign molds.

Will wearing Invisalign aligners affect my speech?

Invisalign aligners may slightly affect the speech for a day or two. As your tongue gets used to having aligners in your mouth, any speech issues should disappear.

Does insurance cover Invisalign?

Insurance coverage varies depending on plan.

Typically, an insurance policy that covers traditional braces also covers Invisalign to the same extent. Your benefits must provide “orthodontic coverage for adults” to receive partial reimbursement.

Invisalign reimbursement is eligible with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA).

How much does Invisalign cost?

Price varies. The cost is based on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment. Insurance coverage varies potentially decreasing out-of-pocket costs.

Are financing options available?

Yes, financing is available with Care Credit at 24 months, 0% interest.
